Sunrise Elopement Hike to a Beautiful Alpine Lake

Telluride, Colorado August 2023

Talk about a sunrise experience! This elopement hike brought us to one of the most stunning alpine lakes Colorado has to offer.

A few of us vendors met K+A at the Sneffels Wilderness trailhead at 2:00am! We had a 5 mile hike ahead of us, and we wanted to be sure we arrived right as the sun was hitting the tops of those peaks. With our packs loaded, and our headlamps we hit the trails.

Sometimes I have to pinch myself that this is our backyard and we’re not actually across the world in Switzerland… The views were so rewarding at the top where we watched K+A share their private vows as the first rays of sun made their appearance. It was as if the world was waking up to witness such a special moment. 

I hiked in some of their favorite snacks along with a thermos full of coffee, and they chose to watch the sun rise while enjoying their breakfast picnic – what a dream! 

Aubrey Beth captured their morning so perfectly, taking them to all the breathtaking spots before heading back down for an afternoon of celebrations. 

It’s true.. “early birds do get the worms”, and in this case an epic sunrise all to themselves!
