There are some wedding weekends that feel less like a single wedding day and more like a little mountain adventure shared with all your favorite people. Lauren and Ian’s mountain wedding in Silverton, Colorado, was exactly that.

With 65 of their closest friends and family gathered in the San Juan Mountains, the weekend was full of everything we love about a mountain wedding: a beautiful off-site ceremony location, good food shared around the table, a packed dance floor, a little rain, and an unforgettable after-party at a tiny local dive bar.

A Mountain Ceremony in the San Juans

The weekend began with a ceremony surrounded by the incredible landscape of the San Juan Mountains. Rather than getting married directly at the hotel, Lauren and Ian chose a beautiful off-site mountain location that gave their ceremony the sense of adventure and place that makes a Colorado wedding so special.

And then, of course, Colorado decided to add its own element to the day.

Embracing Silverton’s mountain weather

Once everyone made their way back to The Wyman Hotel, the rain settled in which meant the rest of the celebration moved indoors. But honestly? It couldn’t have worked out better.

The Wyman is the kind of historic, intimate space that lends itself beautifully to a cozy mountain celebration. Instead of letting the weather dictate the mood, everyone simply leaned into the evening.

Once dinner wrapped up, the energy shifted quickly. The dance floor filled up, and what started as a cozy, rainy evening inside The Wyman turned into a full-blown party. The weather may have kept everyone indoors, but it certainly didn’t keep anyone off the dance floor.

And when the reception came to an end, the night wasn’t over yet. Because what’s a wedding in a small mountain town without a little dive-bar karaoke?The group made their way over to The Shady Lady, a classic little Silverton bar, for an after-party that quickly became one of those wedding weekend memories everyone will be talking about for years.

A full wedding weekend spent in the mountains

Lauren and Ian’s wedding wasn’t about creating a perfectly controlled day. It was about gathering the people they love in a place that felt meaningful to them and letting the weekend unfold.

It was fun, relaxed, adventurous, and completely rooted in Silverton.And that’s exactly what we love about weddings in the mountains.
