English Garden Inspired Backyard Wedding

V+J spend many weeks each season visiting their family property just east of Durango and exploring the area – it’s truly where their love story began. So, naturally it was an easy decision when it came to choosing their wedding day location!

Layered Florals & Garden Romance

For their wedding day, they knew that transforming the property into a romantic English garden–inspired setting would feel deeply meaningful and incredibly stunning against the property’s natural backdrop. A large white pitched tent anchored the lawn, with greenery climbing the center poles and vines framing the entrance, creating a soft, immersive atmosphere. The ceremony overlooked the river, with a lush floral-lined aisle that seamlessly blended into the natural landscape. The Adela Flora team made sure the arrangements were abundant with roses and other seasonal blooms, drawing inspiration from the bold tones and modern compositions of a lush English garden.

On the day of the wedding – despite rain in the forecast, the clouds parted just in time, allowing the couple to celebrate exactly as envisioned under blue skies and perfectly cooled temps.

Guests flowed effortlessly throughout the day—from riverside vows to cocktails on the back deck, and into a tented reception featuring a warm, family-style dinner. The celebration continued with an evening of dancing under the canopy of greenery and twinkling string lights.

Personal details elevated the design, including the bride’s curated of antiques woven throughout the décor, a seasonal color palette that complemented the surrounding environment, and the incorporation of Palisade peaches —adding a distinctly Colorado, late-summer touch that felt both elegant and personal. Their backyard will forever be reimagined as their english garden inspired wedding!
