Airbnb weddings hold a special place in our hearts. While they have become more challenging to arrange over the years, there are still a few hidden gems that allow these intimate gatherings to take place. One such unforgettable celebration was K + C’s Airbnb Elopement Wedding in the San Juan Mountains outside of Ouray, Colorado.

The Elopement Ceremony

It was early October when Colorado’s fall colors were nearing their peak, the tourists had all gone home, and a peaceful calm settled over the mountain towns. The first heavy snow had yet to fall on the peaks, and it was the perfect time for K + C to elope in the mountains and celebrate their love in the most personal and scenic way possible.

They rented jeeps from Alpine Scenic Jeep Tours, and with their closest 14 loved ones (plus their two pups), the group embarked on a backcountry ride practically to themselves. The sun was shining as K + C shared their vows and had their first dance by a nearby waterfall, with the vibrant colors of autumn still in full view. Guests savored a colorful spread of charcuterie, taking in the breathtaking landscape before they roamed the back roads, basking in the late-season sun.

An Evening Reception at the Airbnb

As the afternoon came to an end, the group made their way back to town to freshen up for the evening festivities. K + C had chosen the perfect Airbnb for their elopement wedding reception: a charming cabin nestled on a serene property just north of Ouray. The cabin’s expansive deck offered sweeping views of the Sneffels mountain range, the ideal setting for an intimate dinner. As the sun dipped below the horizon, a family-style meal was served, followed by heartfelt toasts and, of course, pints of K + C’s favorite ice cream for dessert.

As the temperatures dropped, everyone cozied up around the glowing firepit with blankets, glasses of wine, and a sense of gratitude for such a unique and personal day. And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better, the sky lit up with a rare sighting of the northern lights. The hues of pinks and greens danced across the horizon, as if the universe itself was celebrating K + C’s once-in-a-lifetime moment.

From the unforgettable moments spent on the jeep tour to the intimate family gathering at their Airbnb cabin, K + C’s wedding was a true reflection of their adventurous spirits and their love for the mountains. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful celebrations happen in the most unexpected, intimate settings—like an Airbnb wedding nestled in the heart of nature.
