Airbnb Micro-Wedding in the San Juan Mountains

Airbnb weddings hold a special place in our hearts. Although becoming more challenging through the years, there are still a few locations that allow these intimate gatherings to take place. Read more about K + C’s Airbnb and adventurous day!

It was early October in the San Juan Mountains when Colorado’s fall colors were nearing the end, the tourists had all gone home and a sense of calmness graced our mountain towns. Right before the peaks experienced their first big snow, K + C took advantage of this peaceful lull to elope in the mountains! 

 Renting jeeps from Alpine Scenic Jeep Tours, the 14 of us (and their two pups) enjoyed a backcountry ride practically to ourselves! The sun was shining as K + C shared their vows and their first dance by the nearby waterfall. Everyone took in the views while enjoying a colorful spread of charcuterie. After an hour of roaming the back roads and basking in the late season sun we made our way back to town to freshen up for the evening festivities. 

K + C rented an adorable cabin located on a large property just north of Ouray. 

Its large deck, perfect for an intimate dinner, overlooked the Sneffels mountain range. While the sun was setting a family-style meal was served, toasts were shared and pints of their favorite ice cream were savored for dessert. As the temps lowered everyone gathered around the glowing firepit with their blankets and glasses of wine. 

As if the day couldn’t get any better, a rare sighting of the northern lights lit up the night sky of southern Colorado. Hues of pinks and greens dancing along the horizon (obviously) in celebration of K + C’s once in a lifetime day!!
